First Aid, Fire Safety, Fire Drill and Fun at GUtech

Chris and Dave arrived in Muscat, Oman on the 22^nd April 2017 and were greeted by the German University of Technology (GUtech) Media and HSSE teams.  This was the beginning of the outstanding hospitality that Chris and Dave received during their 14 day visit to the University.

The purpose of the trip was to lead on the preparation of the scheduled fire drill and evacuation, and to deliver first aid and fire safety training.  Working with GUtech’s HSSE team, staff and students, and external emergency services such as the fire brigade and paramedics; the fire drill and evacuation was a great success.  All who participated in the training sessions and drill were committed, had the humour to match the trainers, yet professional and fully engaged.

It was a full on 14 days for Chris and Dave, but their hosts made sure they were well catered for….literally!  They feasted on amazing food and experienced the contrasting landscapes of this wonderful country.  A trip to the mountains was a welcome, cooling break from the searing hot temperatures inland – 14 degrees instead of 40 degrees!

It’s always a pleasure working with GUtech.  So much so that we established a training partnership with them which, will see us delivering qualifications in Oman and the Middle East.
