Awarding level:

Level 3

Duration:

6 hours/ 1 day

Location:

On-site at your offices, premises or venue of choice

Description:

This is a 6-hour session that we try to make as interactive as possible. Communication and collaboration is key to handling safeguarding cases. Therefore groups are encouraged to work together on the case studies given to them, and openly discuss their findings and course of action they would take. Abuse is an emotive subject and we deal with thought-provoking, real-life cases that are in the public domain. However, this is handled sensitively. At the end of the session participants will be better equipped to recognise indicators of abuse, and take the necessary action to report incidents.

Syllabus includes:

  • Safeguarding legislation and guidance
  • Indicators of abuse or neglect
  • Making judgements
  • Communication
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Sharing of information
  • Dealing with and reporting of allegations and complaints
